What a year 2018 has been!
July 14, 2023
As we welcomed more and more families to Harmony, we have worked hard to bring our budding community together with a number of fun events throughout the year.
It was great to be a part of the Sunshine Coast’s Horizon Festival, through which we hosted the String Symphony – a large-scale, interactive puppetry performance installation – over three days. We are committed to fostering the creative community spirit the Sunshine Coast is known for, so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome talented performers and excited locals to Harmony for the festival.
Our Harmony Nights events gave community members the chance to see Harmony in a different light, with food trucks, putt-putt and local live music drawing residents to our Harmony Display World for several evenings of family fun throughout the year.
For our new residents, we hosted two Long Table Dinners, where residents were invited to bring a favourite dish and share a meal with their new neighbours at Harmony. These dinners were a great opportunity for residents to make new, lifelong friendships, which is so important when you move into a new community.
Speaking of new residents, this year we were excited to release more than 230 blocks across five releases in our Prosperity and Unity neighbourhoods.
We also delivered the first phase of our Grand Linear Park which will be the first of its kind in Queensland. Once complete it will span the lengths of 10 football fields and cover more than five hectares. The first phase consists of two hectares of community space, featuring three separate play areas including six swings, two table tennis tables and a GIANT 30 metre multi-play structure.
Our commitment to an active, local community goes beyond delivering great parks and amenities. This year we continued our sponsorship of local sporting heroes the Sunshine Coast Lightning with a new two-year partnership agreement. Congratulations to the Lightning on another successful season, we can’t wait to see them repeat their success in 2019!
We were also proud to support local charity STEPS and its sold-out STEPS Grand Winter Ball, as well as the Montessori International College’s Imagineers festival and the Chaplaincy barbeque at Chancellor State College.
Finally, this year we welcomed our 150th family – and have now hit a new milestone with over 240 families now living at Harmony. We are also excited to announce that with more than 250 homes currently under construction, we anticipate that almost 100 of these families will move into their new homes in January 2019.
As Harmony grows, we have the opportunity to welcome more and more residents to our piece of paradise on the Sunshine Coast. We can’t wait for what 2019 has to bring – more exciting events, more great community spaces and more happy families moving in to Harmony.
